Let's start with something recent, a work in progress: The List by AnneM. Great story, nicely woven characters and plot, wonderfully written.

Better the Kiss You Don't Know by Jamies_Lady - No one writes the Lestrange bros like she does.

Toilet Companion by Solas_Divided - this is not smutty, but it's really cute. Though, if you want some great smut, Solas can give it to you! check out some of her fics.

Bittersweet Deception by Solas_Divided - yummy smut and the Malfoy men; it's a winning combination.

The Seven Days of Saint Valentine by MistressMalfoy - oh, Abraxas... *gurgling*

Serpentine Seduction by MistressMalfoy - this story made me a Marcus Flint fan.

Mid-November and our Vampires vs. Werewolves Challenge is in full swing!

GE's Secret Santa Fic exchanges are due in December, giving us plenty of time to get it beta'd and submitted.

If you haven't already, take a trip to the LJ Hermione_Smut fic exchange. The banners up and they are beautiful; the fics are pretty wonderful too.

This month's challenge is going to be slightly different from the usual pick a prompt challenge. It is Vampire versus Werewolf month, and you only have one choice for each. Regardless of which you choose the fic can go multiple ways. Character death? Sure. Smut without a plot? Sure. Happy sappy ending? Naturally. Pick one and have a blast. We have a very talented group of authors who frequent GE and the Manor. I would love to see you guys attempt this challenge and show just how varying all of our imaginations can be.


Your options are as follows:


Your Vampire Option: When Hermione punched Draco, her knuckle split and a tantalizing drop of her dirty blood was left on his lip. At the time, Draco was simply disgusted. Now, he is horrified for he had finally matured into his birthright and that Mudblood's flavour was all he could think of.

Your Werewolf Option: Malfoy of your choice waits for Hermione in the darkest part of the forest, her blood calls to him. She is his naughty filthy obsession.

(These prompts HAVE to be the backbone plot. However, you can branch off in multiple directions. Vampire Draco... sharing blood with Lucius/Abraxas/Narcissa during a family ritual as he comes into his majority and suddenly all of them are obsessed with Hermione. Werewolf Lucius and Draco fighting over the same witch. Whatever floats your boats. We would like to see massive imagination in this challenge!)

Rules:


1. Can be set in any part of the pre-epilogue timeline.
2. All submissions must be in by November 30th, and can include multi chapter submissions as long as you have 2,000 words archived by the cut-off date.
3. Submission rules must be adhered to, and your story must be seen to by a beta.
4. All ratings accepted.
5. We will accept crossovers as long as there are NO Twilight references. NO sparkly vampires here.
6. Minimum of two thousand words.
7. All stories should be submitted to Challenges-> Vampire/Werewolf Challenge, complete with a disclaimer and relevant genres, warnings etc.

This week's prompt: Diagon Alley Boutique sends {Malfoy of choice's} Valentine's Day gift to wrong witch.

Don't you worry; you have plenty of time to finish your Veela fic for the October GE Malfoy Manor Challenge AND to participate in the Secret Santa.  All you have to do is sign up. :)

Malfoy Veela Challenge (I just love these!).

Halloween (Samhain) is traditionally the time when Veela magic materializes in an overnight coming of age ascension into mates, power, loyalty, and a general disruption of long-held beliefs.

Please come with us on the Malfoy Veela Challenge journey; whether it is the tale of coming of age, or the Veela characteristics of an older Veela, we’ll read all of it.

The Prompts.

1.) It’s Draco's 17th birthday and Samhain. His Veela shows itself with a vengeance, and only one thing will soothe it... the complete submission of his mate, Hermione Granger.

2.) Abraxas, Lucius, and Draco Malfoy are all powerful Veela. The blond Gods found their mates and tamed them perfectly, creating a powerful family line. What most people don't realize is that the males aren't the only ones with Veela genes, and Narcissa Malfoy can no longer fight the urge to add to the family by accepting her mate. Only, how does Lucius feel about Narcissa bringing home a Mudblood?

 
3.) Scorpius Malfoy is a source of endless pride for the disgraced Malfoy family and can do NO wrong... until his 17th Samhain, when his Veela decides its mate is the Mudblood mother of one of his Gryffindor classmates.

4) Abraxas Malfoy isn’t dead… and now that he’s a walking talking enigma arisen/discovered/brought back on the Samhain prior, his Veela is screaming at him to find his mate, one that had eluded him in his previous life.  How will he react when he bumps into his soul mate, only to find his son and grandson leering at her with the same strange glint in their eyes that he has?

5)  A new twist on an old tale.  Even though the Malfoy’s have Veela blood running through their veins, it’s the female Veela that carry the trait, and what if she isn’t of pureblood? What if she’s one third of the Golden Trio?  How long would it take Hermione to convince {insert Malfoy of your choice} him to let her mark him?

I'm slightly disappointed we received no Quidditch submissions, but that is ok considering how busy the challenges have been here at the Manor for months now.

As for September... its Hermione's month. All about her birthday and since there is a Hermione Birthday challenge going on over at GE, we're just going to create a category and accept submissions of fitting stories that spawn from that challenge. So if you participate, and your fic fits at the Manor, please double post.

Other than that, nothing else to report just keep up the cross-posting!

Quidditch Month Challenge!

This one will be much more “diverse” than our previous challenges that focus solely on the Malfoys. If you would like to use an entire Quidditch team of Gryffindors... more power to you! The goal of course is to get Hermione into a situation where she ends up part of a Malfoy-pair. It could be a friendship pairing, or it could be a strong love/hate relationship. Since we are going “canon-blasting”, I am giving you some outrageous prompts to play with. We ALL know Hermione would not be caught dead on a broom with a bludger flying at her head but hey... its fanfiction and that is what is so fun about challenges.

Your options are as follows:

1.) The deadly cliché - Hermione is desperate, in her need to be perfect at everything, to learn to fly/play Quidditch and begs/borrows/pleads her way into a Malfoy instructor!

2.) Hermione takes over the management of the craptastic Cannons, who have failed their way into being ejected from the Quidditch League if they do not get their books and their players into shape in a short period of time.

3.) Hermione flees to Bulgaria to hide out with Viktor after a horrific break-up with Ronald and is drawn into a world of glitz and glamour. While partying hard with Viktor and his Quidditch mates, a certain blond takes more than polite interest in our lovely new Quidditch groupie.

4.) Ginevra, being our wonderful witch’s best mate, bullies her into visiting her team’s stylist for a Quidditch Ball. The results leave a certain Malfoy saying “Mudblood what?”

5.) Quidditch camp!!! Now I love this one personally for Scorpius options. IF you use Scorpius, he MUST be of age. Hermione could be volunteering as a camp Mediwitch. She could own the camp, having started it after becoming fed up with the Ministry. The options are endless.

6.) Hermione explains the finer arts of Quidditch to her son or daughter and reminisces on how she came to love the sport. Perfect for a “Draco/Lucius/Abraxas took me flying and we fell in love” flashback.

Rules:

1. Post-war. We want a challenge full of happy endings and no Dark Lords.

2. It must be a Quidditch fic. Do not just mention Quidditch. The plot must be Quidditch heavy. We know that makes it AU. Hermione is not a huge fan of flying, or of Quidditch as a whole but that is what makes it a CHALLENGE.

3. All submissions must be in by August 30th, and can include multi chapter submissions as long as you have 3,000 words archived by the cut-off date.

4. Submission rules must be adhered to, and your story must be seen to by a beta.

5. All ratings accepted.

6. No OC’s and all stories must be set in the HP universe.

7. Minimum of three thousand words.

8. All stories should be submitted to Challenges-> Quidditch Month Challenge, complete with a disclaimer and relevant genres, warnings etc.

Jodes asked me to make a note of this news article over here in case of missing stories, etc. PLEASE follow her directions carefully. Jodes has worked her butt off the last week to provide an even BETTER place for us, not to mention working like a dog to pay for it.

Wanted to repost the prompts to the Drabbles and Challenge for June. 

Remember it's running all month long.  For those authors who want to offer a multi-chapter fic; the Birthday Bash is the challenge for you. 

If you are interested in writing the smaller one-shots; the drabbles are calling your name.

For the Drabbles, the first two weeks are happiness and faeries (not literally faeries, but happiness) and the last two weeks are anxsty drama's that make us all cringe and gasp, but not stop reading!

Prompts:

1.)   Draco breaks out into song; anywhere, in any situation, any length.

2.)   Draco catches dear mum in a compromising position.  Get your mind out of the gutter! It doesn’t have to be in flagrante with Lucius… or better yet, scratch that- anything in flagrante with Lucius is good!

3.)   Draco never thought his cunning plan would result in waking up, handcuffed to Granger in a filthy Muggle Jail.

4.)   Use the quote: ‘Forget love, I want to fall in chocolate.’

5.)   Draco Malfoy had to be the hardest wizard in the world to buy for, lucky for him, Hermione Granger was on the case.

6.)   Draco uses an ancient spell to finally get one over on Ronald Weasley and Granger in his bed.

7.)   Every year she would come to him, without explanation.  And for one night – she was his.

8.)   ‘Draco,’ Lucius murmured.  ‘I left your present on the bed.’  Hermione Granger wrapped in a big, green bow.

9.)   Prejudice led to hate, which morphed into pity, then to acceptance, friendship, respect and love.  Decades were worth enduring for a birthday with Granger by his side.

10.)      Wanting her son to be happy, Narcissa takes drastic measures to ensure the continuation of her family, with a full page ad in Witch Weekly, featuring Draco Malfoy, the birthday boy.
